Burton Family: San Francisco!

Well-we made it! Drove straight through on Friday-went to wedding Saturday, and drove to Reno Saturday afternoon/evening. ( Got stuck in a traffic jam near Sacramento for 40 minutes! )Drove the rest of the way home Sunday. As we were pulling into Shelley, I asked the kids if they were glad they went, and they both very enthusiastically said YES! It was a fun trip. It was so great to see all of our family. It was a beautiful wedding (though it was very foggy). Amber was a beautiful bride. And the San Francisco area is beautiful. We had never been there before. Though we didn't get to see much of the ocean-or countryside because of the fog. What we could see was awesome! We enjoyed each other a lot. Even though the driving was toooooo much in to short of time, it was fun to be together without work or work or school or kid schedules or our schedules!! One funny story.... we got to the beach where the wedding was going to be, and we told the kids they could go look at the ocean- we looked at some maps for a few minutes-and then decided to go check on the kids. Well....we walked down towards the ocean, and there is Kaylee, wet from head to toe! Somehow she had tripped running from the waves, and she fell and the water went completely over her!! She had on her cute "wedding outfit" and she was shivering and had sand all over her! We had to go to an outhouse to change, and she didn't have much else to wear since it was all driving except the wedding. She ended up wearing jeans and a jacket zipped up with no shirt under it. She said to me "so mom, if someone asks for my jacket, I will just tell them no, right?" "YES" is said! But it was all good (as my boys always tell me). I mean the wedding was on the beach after all.
